What is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®)?

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, CFPs must complete an advanced college-level course of study addressing financial planning subject areas, including insurance planning and risk management, employee benefits planning, investment planning, income tax planning, retirement planning, and estate planning. In addition, they must pass the comprehensive CFP certification examination and obtain at least three years of full-time financial planning-related experience. To maintain the designation, CFPs must complete 30 hours of continuing education every two years.

What are your fees/ how do they work?

At FSI Wealth Management, our asset management compensation is 100% transparent, so you know exactly what we make and the value we provide. We charge a competitive asset under management (AUM) annual fee that is computed on the value of the assets we manage. In certain circumstances, a financial planning fee may be charged. Insurance products, by their nature, may carry commissions.

Our goal is to be flexible and offer several different options based upon your needs. 

These include:
Fee-based – charge a % of assets under our management under a tiered formula (.50% - 1.25%/year).
Fee-only – similar to other professionals: we charge $250/hour or flat fee depending on the planning involved.
Subscription model – 3 different levels of services that is based on a menu of services. $100 / $250 / $500.

Do you have a miniumn account size? 

While we do not have a minimum account size, our services are best suited for clients with investable assets in excess of $500,000.

I consider myself to be financially savvy, do I still need a Financial Advisor?

Did you know that the majority of all millionaires have hired the assistance of a planner? These highly successful and disciplined people know that accountability is a key to success. However, many people with the knowledge and experience to manage their own assets will procrastinate when it’s time to make a decision. Often their own needs take a back seat to jobs or family. We add value not only by helping you develop a plan, but also by implementing and adjusting it when necessary. Our knowledge and accountability as a financial advisor can help you take the necessary actions to meet your goals.

Can I use just one of your services? 

We offer solutions using a consultative approach, with the goal of simplifying your financial life. Typically, coordinating a client's investment portfolios and financial planning is the best path to achieving this goal. While the majority of our clients seek our comprehensive services, when appropriate, we are able to unbundle our services and provide only investment management or financial planning to meet your needs.

Are you a Fiduciary?

Yes we are fiduciaries!  What does it mean to be a fiduciary? Fiduciaries have key two duties when managing a beneficiary’s money: duty of care and duty of loyalty.

Duty of Care. Under the duty of care, fiduciaries must make informed business decisions after reviewing available information with a critical eye. Financial advisors might fulfill this by analyzing comprehensive information about your financial life before making recommendations or plans. Directors of companies, on the other hand, might consult industry experts and maintain detailed records and best practices for the company.

Duty of Loyalty. To abide by the duty of loyalty, fiduciaries must not have any undisclosed economic or personal conflict of interest. They cannot use their position to further their private interests. Fiduciary financial advisors might adhere to the duty of loyalty by disclosing any recommendations they’ll receive a commission on.
